Eight on the front and six on the back.
(If you have a Guinea Pig you probably know I am referring to their claws).
Cocoa Cream was our Guinea Pig. We bought her from a pet store called Seahorses Pouch in Montgomery, Alabama on February 7, 1998. We believe she was born around Halloween 1997, since she looked about three months old when we bought her. I classify her breed as an American mixed-self. She looks almost identical to the Guinea Pig on the new Dr. Doolittle movie (shown above), but her belly is not all white. Unfortunately, she left us and went off to "college" in Februay 2004. Cocoa was the perfect pet for us because she behaved herself and only squeaked when she was hungry. She would only bite you if you look and smell like a carrot. Thanks to the Internet, she will live on.

Reasons Guinea Pigs make the ideal pet:
1. You would almost forget you have a pet at times, unless you open the refrigerator door and they are hungry.
2. They like to cuddle next to you.
3. They do not usually bite.
4. They are vegetarians and feeding them is relatively cheap.
5. They sleep most of the time and do not make much noise.
6. They do not smell bad like mice (they clean themselves like cats).
